Priyanka Makin is a creative technologist, artist/illustrator, and student based in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Interactive Telecommunications at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. When she’s not doing her homework she likes to make stuff with her hands. She experiments with film photography, paint, clay, and other crafts. She likes to spend her time in the darkroom, at the pottery studio, or at her favorite independent coffee shop.

Her work explores the intersection between her engineering background and creative inclinations. She is really proud of two acrylic kinetic sculptures that juxtapose the natural against plastic: Nature Mobile for the Museum of Boulder and Kinetic Column. Priyanka also does freelance work to offer engineering support to Denver area artists. She has designed and built electrical systems for motor timing and choreography, sensing, and sound pieces.

Recently, she built her very own kinetic sculpture on display at the Museum of Boulder and is working on illustrating her second children’s book.
